REMEMBRANCE

We have created this display of poppies for the Season of Remembrance. As a church committed to peace in our world we have very deliberately interspersed white poppies for peace among the red poppies for the fallen of war.

Our Remembrance Sunday service will be led by Reverend Jenny Camm on 10th November at 10.45am.

BAPTISMS (CHRISTENINGS)

We welcome parents who wish to have their child Baptised (Christened) at St George's.

The procedure for booking a Baptism/Christening:

  1. Initial meeting: Please contact us to arrange a meeting, typically on a Wednesday at 11am. During this meeting we will complete the paperwork and take a copy of your child's birth certificate.
  2. Date Confirmation: After the initial meeting, we will consult with the Vicar to find out when they are available and confirm the date of the Baptism with you as soon as possible.
  3. Preparation session: Parents and Godparents will need to attend a Baptism preparation session at least three weeks before the Baptism takes place. This session will also take place in church at 12.30pm.
  4. Godparent Requirements: Please note that all Godparents must have been baptised themselves.

We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation with these procedures to ensure that everything is prepared well and the special day goes ahead according to plan.

Thank you and we look forward to welcoming you and your family to our church.

PRAYERS OF LOVE AND FAITH

We have great pleasure in confirming that St George's Church will offer prayers of love and faith during our regular services of worship with immediate effect.

Our church council unanimously supported a resolution to offer prayers for couples in loving and committed relationships, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation. As an inclusive church we wish to play our part in honouring before God, those relationships that have love and commitment at their core.

Please use the contact form to begin making arrangements with us.
